“Air Guitar” by McBusted

I’ve already established my love of McFly, but they’re recent venture into the world of the supergroup McBusted (McFly + Busted) left me a little unsure. McBusted released their first single “Air Guitar” on Tuesday and there has been polarized reactions among fans. Reading the YouTube comments of the lyric video for “Air Guitar”, McBusted’s first song released as a band, showed some severe disappointment many fans. Yes, it’s a different sound than McFly. For those who were expecting it to be the same exact style, sorry, but that’s not how it works. Bands evolve, especially when it’s a brand new supergroup, with a brand new name which means new branding overall. You diehards who say this doesn’t sound like McFly, you’re right. Because this isn’t merely McFly. This is McBusted. They’re trying to pave their own musical path as a band. Yes, I hope to hear more McFly in the future (cause “Love Is Easy” and “Cherry Cola” left me craving the rest of the new album), but for now I’m content with McBusted and their awesome Guitar Hero style lyric video for an okay song.
